Well folks, it's been a few weeks since I've posted. Honestly, I've been really busy, with the beginning of school... my full time job and my new part time job! PLUS, I've taken the TLS weightloss challenge (proudly lost 15 pounds already) Just to give you a status update, I have 2 customers for the vitamins and I'm hoping that my weight loss will prompt others to join that program as well.
I don't however, have my own downline. I need to recruit 2 people in order to truly "activate" myself. I know of one person that is interested in "an opportunity" not necessarily my opportunity, but that's ok, because I know this one is the best and once I get going... I will get GOING!

Market America - 2 months later
So, let me tell you how it's going.
First: I entered Market America as an apprentice. That means, that without spending any money I can reserve my place in the bonus earning hierarchy. As an apprentice, the profit from retail sales goes into an account that accumulates AND when I am able to activate myself, I will get that money.
My plan was simple. Earn money to go towards a fast track startup. roughly $399.00
If you've spoken to or have been doing research on Market American, the initial expense may seem daunting. Honestly, I'm living pay check to pay check, and during the summer some paychecks are leaner then others because the kids aren't in school and the child care expenses increase. SO, having an opportunity to start my own business and work towards a "quick buy in" were key.
Here's the thing. I could have started the business, but without have two people below me (which means recruiting two people) I wouldn't have been activated. With the fast start, I can buy (3) of my own businesses, which automatically activates me. :) So, once activated I start accumulating points. It's quick, it's easy, it's just a little pricey... That's why I chose the Apprentice option.
Turns out it was the best choice... because my sponsor has told me that there are already 2 people registered under me. :) YEAH!
Second: My next challenge is to find THE product in Market America that I can really rap my arms around, something that I can believe in wholeheartedly. Personally, I'm a solutions person. I'm not a sales person. I like to see problems and find solutions so when I started looking at the Market America products, I had to think about things in my own life that I wanted to solve.
The first thing I tried were the Isotonix multi-vitamins, they ROCK. I have never felt so good in my life. Then I tried the OPC-3, now, while I can't really notice anything different, I'm told that I will fare much better this flu season then previous years... so while the jury is still out on my personal OPC-3 benefits, I can tell you without a doubt that the Isotonix Multi-vitamin has made a big difference in my life. I feel great, I have more energy.
The second thing I tried (and am still doing) is the TLS Slim Fit program. It's a 12 week weight loss program. I happen to join during the weight loss challenge, which actually has a monetary prize. The first prize team will will 25K and the first prize individual will win 5K... that's awesome. As if I needed any other motivation to lose the "baby weight" which I've been dragging around with me for 8 years ('cause that's how old my youngest baby is) ... So far, I'm into week 2 of the program and I've lost a solid 10 pounds. I'm onto the second phase of the program and remarkably still losing weight! LOVE THIS PRODUCT.
Back to the Plan.
Network Marketing is about the story... but not the "story" like a political campaign story... it's about ... a real story told by someone whose character and values are trustworthy and not because they sound good... but because they are good.
No one, no matter how much they want to lose weight, is going to buy something from me because I tell them that it works. However, I can show them that it works. I can lose 30 pounds and demonstrate in the simplest way, that if I can do it... you can do it... I can support them. I can help them. I can provide them with a solution... and that's what I love. Solving problems.
My weight loss challenge is over in 10 weeks.
My goal is to get 1 new preferred customer a week, in those 10 weeks. I'm not saying I'm going to sign up 10 distributors, no, I'm saying I want 10 new people to register on my Market America Website as preferred customers.

Focus Focus Focus - Create a Plan... Make Goals.
Wow... the summer is finally over. On the one hand I'm excited for the kids going back to school and for me being able to work full time again... I can honestly tell you I missed the cash!
Today I'm going to write about THE PLAN.
In order for anything to be a success ... it has to be measurable. Right? Think about it... how else are you going to be able to determine if it's a success unless you can measure something.
Everyone's idea of success is different... You're idea may be and extra $1000.00 a month or maybe your idea of success may be making the same amount you are now, but working less hours.
My point is... unless you have a goal and a plan you will have no way to measure that success, and I think setting yourself UP FOR SUCCESS in measuring your goals... is the best way to start.
The other reason you want to have a plan and a goal.... probably the most important reason you want a plan and a goal (are you ready?)........... drum roll please.........
THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON TO HAVE A PLAN AND A GOAL IS TO BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE YOUR EFFORTS.
think about it.
The WHOLE reason we are going into Network Marketing is so that we can create a network or like minded people who are all working towards each other's success... right?
If I keep all of my success to myself... I'm not helping myself.
The ONLY way to succeed in Network Marketing is to build a business that continues and repetitively recreates itself successfully.
Having a written plan with goals and measurable success is going to be the easiest way for ME to know that I'm gaining on my ultimate goal and for YOU to know how to do the same.
Since I'm new to this... I'm going to start with some END GOALS and work my way back.
Let's say I want to earn $100,000.00 a year, let's work it backwards
100K a year = $8333.33 a month
100K a year = $1923.08 a week
Now, I need to know what I need to do to make $1923.08 a week... and set my goals to earn that income.
My ultimate Goal is 100K in 2-3 years.
OK, I'm going to work this out....
Here are the commission volumne designations so that when I start referring to BV and IBV you know what I'm talking about
-Business Volume (BV) is the unit value (points) assigned to exclusive MA branded products
-Icentive Business Volume (IBV) is the unit value (points) assigned to any of our partner store products
The way's that I'm told I can earn these things are through:
Personal Use
Transfer Buying - I need to look that one up
Retail Sales - self explanatory
Preferred Customer Auto-ship - self explanatory
Social Media - I need to find out more about this... because I think that's more of a way to advertise or local potential partners
Marketing Systems - Again, I have to see what they mean, maybe it's a way to advertise, 'cause I believe these are just methods of purchasing

One to One Marketing - This is definiately just marketing.
So, here's the list.... but I think I can really weed it down by saying the following:
I earn IBV and BV if I buy something, whether or myself or a customer and if my customers buy something directly from my site.

OK...
and I need 3600 BV and IBV on my left and right to earn the $1800.00 a week that I want to earn.
YES, there are other incentives and there are other ways to make money... but my entry today is about FOCUS and the PLAN and GOALS.
Now, I just need to find out, in real terms what that's going to take.
I think I'll have to look around, I'm not sure I've ever seen anywhere where the BV and IBV are published, but I'll look!
I need to move 240 of the shape-up kits a week! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
That my friends is the beauty of Network Marketing. because... if I have (10) groups under me... then WE... only need to move 24 each.
That's why a plan is so crucial, it will help you understand what your goal is... and how to measure your success and I may find, that in my efforts to work with kids through the Shape-up program that I am actually really good at that AND the parents end up becoming TLS customers.

Market America 1 Month Update - Network Marketing with Shop.com
Hey.... it's been exactly 1 month. Here's the update
#1) Still an apprentice. (which means that I haven't activated my distributor account by either buying and getting my systems or earning enough retail on the Market America products to buy in)
#2) I have been using the isotonix multivitamin and OPC-3 for about 2 weeks now and feel great! The multi-vitamins have really given me a lot of energy.
#3) I watched the DVD for the Kids Shape-up with my daughter to see if she's interested in working with that program for 12 weeks to get healthy
#4) I've now read the following books by Robert Kiyosaki: Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Business of the 21st Century and I'm currently reading The Cash Flow Quandrant
#5) 1 customer. She started by borrowing my multi-vitamin and now is using the OPC3... I know she will be interested in signing up for automatic delivery, once she decides what she wants.

Actually, when I see this list, I'm very encouraged. I was a little hesitant to write this post because I didn't really think my first month was a success... but now that I look at my 4 achievements, I'm very encouraged.
First of all, I'm a single parent with 3 younger children. It's summer, so I have the added expense of all day child care while the I work. I think I've accomplished a lot with my available time and resources.
I am the quintessential person living paycheck to paycheck... in fact, sometimes... after grocery shopping on payday and paying the bills... I have nothing.. literally 0 until the next payday.
The problem is ... if I don't work, I don't get paid.
I realized through reading Robert Kiyosaki's books is that the reason all of my attempts at entrepreneurship have "failed" is because I think like an employee... I am letting the money rule my life and as a result.. when I know that I am going to be earning extra... I make plans for it. I make plans to CONSUME it.
Instead of consuming the extra money, I should be making plans to invest it in a way that will make me money.
For instance, I recall thinking about some Google Adsense earnings I was expecting this year and thought ... I can't wait to get that check and put that towards summer camp. BUT, infact, I would have been thinking more along the lines of ... I can't wait until I have $???? so that I can invest it.
Now... I'm TOTALLY new to investing and I haven't figured any of it out... I just know that... there's a way in today's economy to make money. Whether it's real estate investment or gold or silver... I'm working on figuring that out while I am working on earning the money to move forward.
OK, Back to Market America
So, here's what I do every day.
Every day, I find several videos about Market America and Shop.com and their products on Youtube. I get them queued in my android cell phone, then I listen to them in my car when I'm on my way to work.
I like to listen to the conventions, and like to listen to different people present the business plan, and if there were a place where I could just listen to webinars on my way to work it would be great.
PLUS, my sponsor Camille is fan-freaking-tastic. She is bubbly, informative and filled with energy.
I'm very fortunate to be in this group and to have this team around me. I can't wait to start going to trainings and meetings!

Don't be distracted by the headlines there is always going to be some idiotic buzz going on that tries to pull your attention away from the serious business of building your life. Its just noise. Whether its terrorism, recession, or the latest election-cycle scandals, its got nothing to do with what you need to be3 doing to da6 ot build your future.
The economy is not the issue. The issue is you.
As a network marketer, you might think your job is to demonstrate and sell a product. It's not. Your job is to communicate information, to tell a great story and build a network.
Many of the most successful network marketers I've ever seen have been coaches, moms, pastors, teachers -- people who really enjoy telling stories and helping others. Network marketing is about caring about the success of those your bring into the business.
It's not sales... the key success to sales is what you can do... the key success to network marketing is what you can duplicate.
"If you don't really have to be a top salesperson, ,and you don't have to be an expert speaker or presenter, what do you do? Why does the company even need you?
Your Network. That's why it's called network marketing. that why the company needs you and why they pay you. As a network marketer your job description so to speak is to connect with people, invite them to experience the products you are excited about and take a look at the information you have, and then follow u p with them. then once they've decided to join you in the business, you share with them y our enthusiasm, your experiences, and you help them learn to do what you have learned to do,. Here again, there are digital tools that can take a huge amount of the burden and expertise of training off your shoulders. Your job is to build relationships, have conversations, explorer possibilities, get to know people and help them get to understand what this business is all about.
In Network marketing you are the messenger... not the message
If you have ever helped build a soccer league, PTA group, chess club, taken part in a political campaign, church committee coached little league or formed your own band... then you know what it's like building a network.
Very few people are skilled at selling but practically anyone can become skilled at networking, coaching and team building.
The military develops a leader who inspires men and women to defend their country. the world of business develops a type of leader who builds teams to beat the competition... Network Marketing tends to develop the type of leader who influences others by being a great teacher, teaching others to fulfill their life's dreams by teaching others to go for their dreams.
Instead of beating the enemy or beating the competition, most network marketing leaders simply inspire and teach others to find the financial bounty this world offers without harm to others.
Traditional schools train you to be a good employee. They focus on one thing only:your mental ability. If you can solve equations and do well on tests, then you're considered smart enough to run a company... that's ridiculous.
Wealth and money are not the same thing. wealth is not measured by the3 size of income. Wealth is measured in time. If all I have to my name is $1000.00 and my living expenses are $100.00 a day, then my wealth equals 10 days.
One reason the rich get richer is that the rich work for a different kind of money. they don't work to generate income -- they work to build wealth. There is a vast different between the two.
One of the most profound values of a network marketing business -- and it is one that the great majority of people who look at this business do not quote grasp -- is that it is an engine of personal wealth creation.
4 simple steps that Robert Kiyosaki took with his wife to financial freedom from having nothing to being financial free in 9 years:
1. build a business
2. reinvest in your business
3. invest in real estate (They purchased apartment houses because they were the best tax write offs
4. Let your assets buy luxuries
One of the most valuable things about network marketing is that they stress the importance of going for your dreams. Notice, I didn't say, "The importance of having dreams" They don't just want you to have dreams they want you to live those dreams.
What's more, they encourage you to dream big.
Traditional businesses are often not too keen on you having big dreams, they prefer modest dreams: brief summer vacation, maybe a small time share, hobby you enjoy, game of golf on Sunday... nothing wrong with that... but it's a small life compared to dreaming big.
That's the difference between "I can't afford that" and "How can I afford that?"
There are plenty of people that try to smother dreams without meaning to, but their words are deadly:
You can't do that
That's too risky
If it's such a good idea, why hasn't someone else done it
Let me tell you why it won't work
Do you know how hard that is
do you know h9ow many people have failed at that
Look at people that are saying that... and decide.. if they are people that have already given up on their dreams.
Network Marketing is a powerful business for women.,. it is populated b nearly 4 times more women then men.
Network marketing is at it's core s relationship business. it does not revolve around sales... it revolves around connections.
Statistics about women:
47 percent of women over 50 are single, and financially responsible for themselves. women retirement income is less than that of men because as the primary care giver they are usually away from the work force an average of 14 years.
Women are expected to live an average of 7 - 10 years longer than men which means they must provide for those extra years
of the elderly living in poverty, 3 out of 4 are women.

Wealth building is a necessity.
How to choose which network marketing opportunity to join
When choosing a company to work with, the product is NOT the most important consideration
because, you are NOT taking a job as a sales person.. you are going into business for yourself and that business is in network building.
